The idea that a border wall would stop the flow of drugs into America from Mexico is nothing more than a dream. Considering that most of the drugs come through ports of entry, the impact a wall that ranged across the entire border with Mexico would be less than a drop in the bucket comparatively speaking. Roberto Saviano, author of ZEROZEROZERO, argues in this article, that the money put towards a wall, would be much better spent elsewhere, if you want to really cripple the drug trade.
