Toby Dorr says she empathizes with Vicky White. An emotion that is probably foreign to most of us, certainly wasn't to Toby. She had her own love affair gone wrong when she fell for an inmate and then helped him escape later on by smuggling him out of the prison in a dog crate. She says she can understand how Vicky could fall for an inmate, even a violent one like Casey White.
