A Look Back: The Oceangate Submersible Was Macgyvered Together According To CBS
As time continues to tick by for the rescue crew and those stuck in the missing submersible, we are learning more about the company and the vessel that we are looking for.
According to a report by CBS and their reporter David Pogue stated that many parts of the construction of the submersible seemed improvised with off the shelf components and shockingly he reported that the craft is piloted by a video game controller like you would find with an x box or playstation console.
Pogue said, "It seems like this submersible has some elements of MacGyver jerry-riggedness. I mean, you're putting construction pipes as ballast."
The U.S. Coastguard and the Canadian military are leading the search efforts and so far they have not been able to locate the vessel.
