Amy Wroe Bechtel was a outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed climbing, running and working out. She and her husband both worked part time at a climbing gym and Amy even worked with kids teaching them how to lift weights properly. Amy's true love was running though. She had a great mile time and she even had aspirations to make the Olympic team in 2000.

It was this love of running that had alone near Shoshone national park. She was there mapping out a route for a 10k marathon she was organizing.
