Trailer: Get into the Tour de France mood with My First Tour, a four four-part series for Friends of the Podcast.

In episode one, François Thomazeau recalls the first time as a six-year-old boy that he took full notice of the Tour on the fateful day Tom Simpson died on Mont Ventoux in 1967. Then he fast forwards 19 years to the first Tour he covered as a journalist.

Then Richard Moore looks back at the summer of 1990 and his first trip abroad to the Alps to see Thierry Claveyrolat in full flight in the Alps.

Daniel focuses on 1996 and the emergence of a certain Jan Ullrich before talking about the 2001 race, when he was one of the youngest journalists in the press room.

And in episode four Lionel Birnie goes back to the scandal-hit 2006 Grand Départ in Strasbourg and the summer he spent following the Tour in a camper van.
