How social media is undermining democracy

In the wake of Trump's defeat, social media has once again become the stage for conspiracies and lies. Ron Deibert, professor of political science and director of the Citizen Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, explains how social media and big tech companies may be undermining democracy. His new book is called Reset: Reclaiming the Internet for Civil Society.
