b"Tuesday's primary runoff in Georgia offered yet another stark reminder of what could go terribly wrong in every state in this November's crucial midterm elections:\\xa0 voters were again prevented from casting ballots due to failures in the state's voter registration database and computerized electronic poll-book system. Those that were allowed to vote were forced to use 100 percent unverifiable touch-screen voting systems selected by Brian Kemp, the Republican Sec. of State who "oversees" both systems \\u2013 including when egregious data breaches exposed data for both systems, unprotected, online \\u2013 and who is now the GOP's nominee for governor in the state. Kemp says he'll make certain the public can trust the results of his race against Democratic nominee Stacy Abrams, who could become the nation's first African-American female governor. Donald Trump has a socialist -- yes, socialist -- scheme to bailout farmers in the Midwest who are being devastated by his trade war with China, tapping an old FDR-era New Deal program to give farmers $12 billion in tax-payer subsidies to make up for some of the losses he has caused them through his ill-advised trade tariffs. Republicans in Congress pretend to be outraged but take no action. Of course, the GOP only pretends to oppose wildly popular socialist programs \\u2013 in reality, they are more than happy to privatize profits and socialize losses when they hold the reins of the government.
