b"The fallout continues from Donald Trump's stunning comments in Helsinki, in which he took sides against his own intelligence agencies in favor of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following 24 hours of unrelenting backlash, Trump attempted to walk back his statements, now claiming to stand behind his own Intelligence Community assessments and that he simply misspoke. Trump's denial comes just days after Special Counsel Robert Mueller filed new felony charges against 11 Russian military intelligence officials for cyber-interference in the 2016 election. On Monday, the Dept. of Justice announced another indictment of a Russian national who allegedly infiltrated the National Rifle Association. Former federal prosecutor Michael J. Stern explains how Mueller's indictments were written in such a way as to suggest there are more indictments to come in the days ahead, particularly of Americans, and how from a prosecutorial perspective, investigators working on sprawling conspiracy cases tend to work their way up from lower-levels toward their main targets.
