b"It's another busy 'BradCast' today, with the breaking news of the murder of British Member of Parliament Jo Cox, the ongoing fallout from the Democrats' 15-hour 'filibuster' in the U.S. Senate, led by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) to try to simply force a vote on gun safety measures that would close the background check loophole and prevent terror suspects from easily and legally buying weapons, and President Obama's meeting on Thursday in Orlando, FL with the families of the victims of last weekend's massacre at the Pulse nightclub.\\xa0 Then we speak with Dr. Mark Rosenberg, who was head of the federal CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention twenty years ago when Republicans in Congress forced the agency to stop researching gun violence and the causes behind it.\\xa0 Dr. Rosenberg, who recently retired as head of the Task Force on Global Health, explains the history of what is now known as the 'Dickey Amendment', which ended all federal research on guns. He describes his initial confrontations with then-U.S. Congressman Jay Dickey (R-AR), who has since, ironically enough, become a friend and ally, and why still-absent federal research funding is so important to helping to curb the nation's extraordinary epidemic of gun violence..."
