North Carolina Republicans rival Georgia and Florida Republicans for the most corrupt and willing to blatantly game elections for partisan advantage. After blockbuster revelations from a cybersecurity researcher who discovered North Carolina State Board of Election passwords and more exposed online, and after multiple recent investigations uncovering the North Carolina GOP's blatant attempts to game state and federal elections, a new treasure trove of documents reveals that the state's Republicans lied to a federal court in at least one of three different lawsuits against them for unlawful gerrymanders, which have enabled the NC GOP to unlawfully hold super-majorities in the state legislature (until last November, thanks to new court-ordered maps). Corrupt Republican state lawmakers in Florida, after gutting a voter-approved state constitutional amendment to restore voting rights to most former felons, have now gutted the entire statewide ballot initiative process to make it nearly impossible for citizen initiatives to qualify for the ballot at all, which the Tampa Bay Times says "will solidify Republican control by eliminating one of the last threats to their power: the ballot box."
