Cohen's attorney claims some of the information used to obtain the warrant came from Robert Mueller's Special Counsel probe, and may be in relations to\\xa0 a $130,000 'hush money' payment he made to an adult film star right before the 2016 election,\\xa0 who had an alleged affair with Trump.\\xa0 A resident died in a fire at Trump Tower in Manhattan over the weekend, after Trump spent years fighting requirements to install sprinklers on residential floors of his namesake tower.\\xa0 Also today, some good news (and bad) for voters:\\xa0 In Maryland, automatic voter registration legislation is adopted into law. California has allowed registered 100,000 16- and 17-year olds to pre-register to vote, thanks to a 2016 law. And speaking of elections in the the Sunshine State: Republican Gov. Rick Scott announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate on Monday to unseat incumbent Democratic Senator Bill Nelson; the race is expected to be one of the most expensive in the nation's history.\\xa0 Scott's announcement comes just days after he appealed a federal court ruling ordering him to reform the procedures for restoring voting rights to some 1.5 million former felons.\\xa0 Scott has slow-walked the clemency process for years, since taking office, leaving some 10% of the state's voting-age population (and 25% of the state's African Americans) off the rolls and unable to participate in elections in the closely divided swing-state.
