b"On today's 'BradCast':\\xa0 Shortly before airtime, we learned that our dear friend, longtime progressive media critic and frequent guest, ERIC BOEHLERT, was killed in a bicycling accident in Montclair, New Jersey at the age of 56. His unexpected passing is a shock, and rather than continue with the very different program we had planned for today, we are sharing his most recent and, sadly, final appearance on this program. We last spoke on-air with Eric on January 19, when he discussed the one-year anniversary of President Biden's inauguration and the disturbing contrast in the way the corporate media covers Biden's presidency, versus the guy in office before him. News of his passing triggered a flood of warm thoughts in his memory on social media, including from prominent folks like Hillary Clinton and Jon Stewart. Boehlert's legacy speaks for itself -- at Salon, Media Matters, Daily Kos and his latest venture, his\\xa0 Press Run newsletter, 'an unfiltered, passionate, and proudly progressive critique of the political press in the age of Trump', and, of course, in his many commentaries in the media. Eric was an indefatigable champion for the truth and never stopped holding feet to fire. He was particularly focused on accountability in the corporate media, documenting how it has consistently failed in its mission to inform the public.\\xa0 Also today: Some accountability for a very Trumpy attorney, and Ivanka Trump's marathon interview with the House January 6 Committee. But really, today's show is mostly in tribute and in memory of Eric, who always noted at the top of his Press Run newsletters: 'Stay Healthy. Be Kind.'"
