b"On today's 'BradCast':\\xa0 We focus on the new HBO documentary film, 'Kill Chain: The Cyberwar on America's Elections,' from the same team who created the landmark, Emmy-nominated 2006 HBO doc 'Hacking Democracy'. The documentary is considered important enough that HBO is making it available to all on their YouTube channel, for free, from 4/6-5/25/2020. The earlier film featured the first-known, on-camera hacking of a Diebold optical scan vote tabulation system in which the results of a mock election were flipped, such that only a hand-count of the hand-marked paper ballots would have revealed the hack had occurred at all. Those same aging systems are still in use in U.S. elections today. Needless to say, almost no paper ballots are hand-counted by humans after elections to assure the computers are reporting accurate results, including the 2016 Presidential election. The new film follows legendary cybersecurity and voting system expert Harri Hursti as he uncovers new and disturbing revelations proving that U.S. elections are even more vulnerable than many realize, and are arguably no safer or more secure from manipulation. In today's special edition, we are joined by the filmmakers, SIMON ARDIZZONE and RUSSELL MICHAELS, who along with Sarah Teale, directed the follow-up 'Kill Chain,' out this week from HBO. The film includes a chilling interview with a foreign hacker who explains that, before the 2016 election, he was able to take complete control of Alaska's entire election system, and could have altered votes. The film also reveals many disturbing events and revelations regarding the 2016 election, including the hack of voting vendors (revealed by DHS whistleblower Reality Winner),\\xa0 discoveries made by hackers at DefCon's Voting Village in Las Vegas, and much more.
