Many are disappointed that there will be no public trial following Dominion's decision to settle its defamation lawsuit against Fox 'News' for knowingly broadcasting baseless lies alleging that the election system vendor stole the 2020 election from Donald Trump. But corporate election vendors like Dominion are only interested in profits, not exposing Fox in court for undermining democracy. Privately-owned corporations should never have been allowed to take over our public elections in the first place. But there are other important reasons that Dominion accepted a $757.5 million settlement in exchange for dropping the case.
