b"On today's 'BradCast': U.S. Labor Department statistics released today reveal a record 6.6 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits in the past week, on top of 3 million the week before, breaking all previous records and approaching levels of the Great Depression. Speaker Nancy Pelosi says House Democrats are working on another relief bill to follow up the $2.2 trillion stimulus/corporate bailout bill passed last week, but Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has rejected the proposal. Most Americans will be forced to wait weeks – and some must wait for months – to receive the paltry $1,200 check in last week's emergency relief bill. McConnell is doing something -- bragging he will continue to pack the federal courts with unqualified judges during the pandemic. GOP senators propose bill to punish those who disseminate false information about the coronavirus – but only when the disinformation comes from outside the US, so Donald Trump is safe, despite his months of repeated, deadly disinformation. Speaker Pelosi announces a new committee to oversee the Trump Administration's response to the pandemic and its disbursement of the $2 trillion relief bill, but the Trump White House has a history of rejecting House oversight. The Democratic National Committee is postponing its national convention to August. A Wisconsin judge has ruled the state's primary election can go forward on Tuesday, despite a statewide stay-at-home order, a massive shortage of pollworkers, the very real dangers to voters and staffers amid the pandemic, and warnings that absentee ballots may not be received in time (or even counted) due to severe staffing shortages.
