The Trump Administration is so far only testing around 147,000 people a day for COVID-19, and claiming that's a sufficient number to pressure states to reopen. But a new Harvard analysis indicates that ensuring a safe reopening of portions of the economy will require a national testing regime of 5 million tests per day, which eventually "will need to increase over time to 20 million a day" \\u2013 and warns even that might not be enough to protect public health. The U.S. has barely tested 4 million people in total over the last four months.\\xa0 But following a weekend of small protests by Trump supporters \\u2013 egged on by rightwing astroturf groups, Fox "News" and the President himself -- Republican governors like Georgia's illegitimate Republican Governor Brian Kemp are ready to put their state's residents at increased risk of death by opening back up for business before it is safe to do so. Voting rights advocate Marilyn Marks of the Coalition for Good Governance has filed suit against Georgia's election officials to ensure a number of provisions are in place to ensure voters' health and safety in the state's upcoming primary. The list provides a useful template for voters in other states, since all 50 states must somehow figure out how to hold safe elections this November.
