'BradCast' 3/4/2021 (Democracy Strikes Back: 'For the People' v. For the GOP Fraudsters)

b"On today's 'BradCast':\\xa0 Democracy strikes back against the anti-democracy GOP, because every democracy story these days includes Republican fraud or attempted voter suppression. House Democrats passed H.R.1 -- the 'For the People Act' -- with zero Republican votes. The landmark once-in-a-generation bill to protect voting rights, and reform campaign finance and ethics now moves to the undemocratic Senate, where Republicans are opposed, and where a simple majority is not enough to pass the bill unless Democratic Senators Senators Joe Manchin (WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) to do the right thing and vote to reform the filibuster so the measure, which is wildly popular among all Americans (including majority of Republican voters) can pass. But Republicans are continuing their sad, pathetic attempts to trick Americans into the false belief that the 2020 election was stolen. In Michigan, a second statewide post-election audit - once again - confirmed the accuracy of the tally. In Arizona, the Republican-controlled state Senate won a court order to examine 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County, but now has no idea what to do with them. In Kansas, a white male former Republican U.S. House Rep. Steve Watkins of Topeka, who was charged with three felony counts of voter fraud, was given a lenient 'diversion' agreement that drops all charges if he behaves for six months - unlike black single mother Crystal Mason of Texas, who received 5 years in prison for mistakenly casting a provisional ballot.
