b"On today's 'BradCast':\\xa0 The US House has adjourned for the week due to warnings from Capitol security officials of a credible threat by rightwing extremists to attempt to breach the Capitol on March 4. The House Oversight Committee renewed its subpoena for Donald Trump's tax and financial records from accounting firm Mazar's USA, that Trump had successfully stalled for years. President Joe Biden criticized Republican governors of Texas and Mississippi who have lifted mask mandates and relaxed virus restrictions despite being among the top ten states for COVID deaths per capita - and who may be attempting to distract from the fact that their residents are still suffering a water crisis more than two weeks after an extreme winter storm.\\xa0 New polls show that Americans overwhelmingly favor development of renewable energy over the continued production of fossil fuels. DR. MICHAEL E. MANN of Pennsylvania State University joins us to discuss solutions to the climate crisis and those who continue to seek to deny, delay and entrench inaction his new book, 'The New Climate War: The Fight to Take Back Our Planet'.\\xa0 Dr. Mann also discusses two paths that are emerging on climate action \\u2013 what he describes as the 'technocratic' path detailed in a new book by software mogul Bill Gates, and the other path, which Mann favors, of socio-political action that relies on deploying existing safe, clean renewable energy technologies. Dr. Mann explains specifically where he believes Gates gets it wrong, and details the solutions that actual energy system experts say are the most promising for success in solving the climate crisis. Dr. Mann says that, unlike Gate's Microsoft Windows, 'if the global climate system crashes, you can't reboot it.'"
