b"On today's show: Yes, Virginia, there is a problem with race and hate in the Commonwealth. The media are all over the astonishing political crisis that has taken over the state, in the wake of a Republican website revealing a racist photo on Governor Ralph Northam's 1984 yearbook page, a serious sexual assault allegation against Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax, and Attorney General Mark Herring's announcement that he had dressed in blackface as one of his favorite rappers for a party 40 years ago. Top Democrats in the state and nationally have demanded Northam resign, despite the lack of evidence to suggest he is a racist in the 35 years since the photo. But Democrats would be wise to pause and ensure they're not making decisions out of fear. The next state official in the line to become Governor would be Republican House of Delegates Speaker Kirk Cox, who is only in that role thanks to a questionably "tied" House election in 2017 decided by lots drawn from a bowl, putting the GOP in control of the VA House.\\xa0 Far more notably, VA's current GOP majority is thanks to unconstitutionally racially gerrymandered House of Delegates maps, which gave as many as 8 additional seats to Republicans than they would have otherwise won. One of those districts was "won" by Cox, according to new district maps ordered by a panel of federal judges a few weeks ago. Also today: Fox 'News' is freaking out about wildly popular ideas such as increasing taxes on the wealthy and a "Green New Deal," officially introduced today by Democratic Rep.
