b"On today's 'BradCast':\\xa0 In the wake of the January 6 MAGA Mob attack at the U.S. Capitol incited by Donald Trump, many members of far-right extremist organizations have been arrested and indicted, with more to come.\\xa0 But the violent insurrection was completely predictable. COLIN P. CLARKE, Senior Research Fellow at The Soufan Center and an expert in terrorism and insurgencies, warned on this program back in December that Trump was setting the stage for political violence. Clarke warns today that such far-right groups considered the violent insurrection at the US Capitol as a success and are now using it as a recruitment tool, hoping to launch more violent events in the near future. Clarke discusses how both lawmakers and law enforcement need to grapple with the emerging threats posted by 'a new era' of domestic terrorism; if our current laws are adequate to safeguard against further attacks; and the justifiable concerns that many Americans have that new domestic terrorism tools might inappropriately be used against the perceived political adversaries of those in power. Also today:\\xa0 Smartmatic, a small voting machine company, filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News, prominent Fox News anchors, and Team Trump attorneys Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, seeking billions in damages over their false claims that the company somehow was involved in 'stealing' the 2020 Presidential election from Trump. Smartmatic's voting systems played no role in any of the battleground states where Team Trump has baselessly claimed the election was stolen from him.\\xa0 Democratic House impeachment managers invited the disgraced former president to testify\\xa0\\xa0 under oath in his second impeachment trial beginning next week, but Trump declined.
