b"Brad and Desi are back, and there's a lot of news to cover as Democrats officially settle in to their new U.S. House majority amid an ongoing partial federal government shutdown. The Trump shutdown is causing very real and negative effects across the country, particularly in food assistance to the poor and impacts at our national parks. Oddly enough, one historic site in D.C. is still staffed -- the Old Post Office building, which is now a Trump hotel property. Meanwhile, Trump will make a prime time speech to the nation on Tuesday night to address his pretend "immigration crisis" at the southern border -- Brad explains how Democrats can solve the very real shutdown crisis by giving Trump exactly what he asked for in his very own proposed budget for 2019 (just $1.6 billion for the wall). Also today: for the first time, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, recuperating from cancer surgery, missed oral arguments. But in better news, the Court sided with MA Attorney General Maura Healy in her investigation of Exxon Mobil for lying to the public and its investors about climate change. Republicans are freaking out and lying about a proposal from new Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans to help fund a 'Green New Deal' to fight climate change.
