b"On today's 'BradCast:\\xa0 Some marginally encouraging news today - - and these days, we'll take all the good news we can get.\\xa0 In Wisconsin, an appeals court has overturned a judge's ruling declaring the use of absentee ballot dropboxes to suddenly be illegal, despite decades of use. In Alabama, a three-judge federal court panel (including two Trump appointees) overturned the GOP-controlled state legislature's new U.S. House district maps as an illegal racial gerrymander in violation of the Voting Rights Act. Ukrainian officials are asking the leaders of the U.S., Europe and NATO to please calm down regarding their proclamations of an 'imminent invasion' by Russia, but also say please keep sending weapons. Wingnut conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, a key instigator of the deadly January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, says he pleaded the Fifth 'almost 100 times' in questioning by the House Select Committee investigating Trump's attempt to steal the 2020 election. John Eastman, author of the infamous 'Eastman Memo,' which detailed steps for Trump to steal the election, also chose to avoid self-incrimination in his testimony 146 times. A judge has ordered Eastman to cough up his withheld emails to the House Jan. 6 Committee. Virginia State Senate Democrats say they have the votes to block the nomination of Trump EPA Administrator (and coal lobbyist) Andrew Wheeler to the state's top environmental office.
