b"On today's show: Donald Trump's former personal lawyer admits he paid a guy to rig online polls for Trump before he announced his candidacy in 2015, potentially another campaign finance felony. Trump's new personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, broke the internet with an appearance on CNN in which he moved the "collusion" goal posts by falsely claiming that neither he nor the President ever claimed his campaign -- if not Trump himself -- "colluded" with Russia. Trump rescinded permission for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and members of Congress for the use of military transport to visit troops in Afghanistan in retaliation for Pelosi's threat to postpone the scheduled State of the Union Address due to the government shutdown. The harmful consequences of Trump's record federal government shutdown continue, with senior citizens and people with disabilities facing the threat of potential eviction in HUD- and USDA-subsidized low income housing. The Administration is calling some 50,000 furloughed federal employees back to work, without pay, at agencies such as the FDA, FAA, and at the IRS. Republicans are freaking out and lying about a proposal floated by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to raise the nation's top tax bracket to 70% on income above $10 million. Wisconsin's failed former GOP Gov. Scott Walker was resoundingly mocked across social media for lying to schoolchildren about how Ocasio-Cortez' fairly conventional tax proposal would actually work. Polls show her tax proposal is wildly popular across every demographic and region.
