In California, shocking results from computer security testing exposed massive failures and vulnerabilities in brand-new, 100% unverifiable touchscreen Ballot Marking Device (BMD) voting systems that are set to be used for the first time in the crucial 2020 election in Los Angeles County and in several states across the country. Testers found more than 40 violations of California Voting System Standards, including revelations that the system can be booted from any USB drive to bypass all security protections and logging; allow unauthorized individuals to access to the system to make undetectable changes to files and data; computer-marked paper ballots can be added or removed without detection; protective seals, locks, labels and sensors could be bypassed without detection; and much, much more. National voting system and cybersecurity expert described the findings as "a security fail."
