b"On today's 'BradCast':\\xa0 At least 126,000 gallons of crude oil spilled into the ocean off the coast of Huntington Beach, California over the weekend, fouling miles of beaches, killing birds and fish, and causing great damage to key sensitive ecological preserves. Officials say the cause appears to be a ruptured pipeline from an offshore oil rig, and will take weeks or months to fully clean up. LAURA DEEHAN, State Director of the non-profit Environment California, updates the latest on the state's newest fossil fuel disaster, the economic hit the oil spill has caused to local businesses, tourism and commercial fishing industries,\\xa0 and what can and should be done about it moving forward.\\xa0 Deehan also explains how the many provisions in President Biden's Build Back Better agenda might help to begin making these recurring\\xa0 fossil fuel disasters a thing of the past. But that's only if Democrats can overcome a handful of party obstructionists - - largely from just two Senators, Joe Manchin from West Virginia coal country and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.\\xa0 In Congress, Republicans are threatening to tank the entire U.S. economy, and the global economy with it, in their ongoing blockade of Senate Democrats' efforts to lift the debt ceiling to pay the nation's existing debt. President Biden called out Republicans for their brinksmanship, arguing that the GOP is 'playing Russian Roulette' with the economy. The stakes are nothing less than preventing global fiscal calamity if the U.S. defaults on its debt for the first time in history.\\xa0 Callers weigh in on all of the above."
