b"On today's show:\\xa0 Only one single copy of the FBI's supplemental background report on U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, released on Thursday, is available to U.S. Senators. The "White House whitewash" of a report garnered heavy criticism from Senate Democrats for failing to interview dozens of witnesses, including Kavanaugh and his first accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, but gained hearty approval from Republicans. Before the report was even released, Republicans scheduled a final floor vote on the confirmation of the most partisan, dishonest nominee the nation has ever seen. The National Council of Churches called for Kavanaugh's nomination to be withdrawn. More 2,400 law professors (and counting) signed on to a similar statement.\\xa0 Thousands of anti-Kavanaugh protesters descended on the Senate office building. Even 98-year old retired Justice John Paul Stevens, appointed by Republican President Gerald Ford, announced he is opposes Kavanaugh's confirmation.\\xa0 All cited Kavanaugh's lack of judicial temperament in his angry and partisan testimony last week. Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, who faces a tight re-election contest in North Dakota in November, announced she will vote 'no' on Kavanaugh. Senators Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) have yet to commit.\\xa0 In the meantime, the divisive issue has helped fuel enthusiasm by BOTH Democrats AND Republicans for the crucial November midterms, according to new polls, but younger voters far less likely to vote this year, putting the Democrats' hoped-for 'blue wave' in doubt. With obstacles preventing voters from registering\\xa0 and state voter registration deadlines coming up this weekend in several key states, thousands of citizens who registered to vote in Texas via the non-profit Vote.org will not be added to the rolls, according to a new report.
