b'Lisa Doggett is a family physician,\\xa0writer, and MS warrior based\\xa0in Austin, Texas. An activist at\\xa0heart, she is a cofounder of Texas Physicians for Social Responsibility and\\xa0a columnist for Public Health Watch.\\xa0She previously directed a safety-net\\xa0clinic where she saw a mix of patients\\xa0struggling with their own health challenges in a deeply dysfunctional system. She has battled frustrating symptoms, relapses, and insurance\\xa0companies. But she has also run two marathons and completed a Half\\xa0Ironman triathlon, traveled throughout the U.S. and internationally,\\xa0raised two daughters, and embraced her work as a physician leader\\xa0dedicated to improving health care for underserved communities.\\xa0Lisa graduated from Amherst College, Baylor College of Medicine,\\xa0and the University of Texas School of Public Health.
