It was only a matter of time before a company with some reputation put some confidence in cryptocurrency. This morning Tesla disclosed that they had purchased 1.5 billion in bitcoin (a reported 10% of their holdings) and we think this is a big deal. Some doctors discovered something odd about the new iPhone that could kill some people, Google is still removing accounts for little to no reason, celebrities are mounting rocks to their heads and so much more. Shower thoughts were shared and we learned some things as well.

Just to set the record straight: No Curtis and Jordan aren’t fighting. We have some different opinions on some things, but share a lot of the same values in life. This is what conversations look like, and we want to make it more common to listen to those around us an their perspectives on things that we may not see eye to eye on. We think it actually can make the world a better place to live, and it gets boring if we only surround ourselves with people we agree with. If you could join us for the “after show” discussion you’d see that we most always leave laughing at ourselves.

TIL sand is the second-most consumed resource on the planet (after water) and we\'re running out of it. The problem lies in the type of sand we are using. Desert sand is largely useless to us. The overwhelming bulk of the sand we harvest goes to make concrete, and for that purpose, desert sand grains are the wrong shape. Eroded by wind rather than water, they are too smooth and rounded to lock together to form stable concrete. The sand we need is the more angular stuff found in the beds, banks, and floodplains of rivers, as well as in lakes and on the seashore. Why the world is running out of sand

TIL The search to recover debris from the Challenger disaster in 1986 also resulted in the discovery of 13 shipwrecks, two lost airplanes and 25 kilos of cocaine

TIL Shia LaBeouf came under heavy fire for plagiarizing his directorial debut in 2012. When he publicly apologized to the original artist, Dan Clowes, people discovered that Shia\'s apology was itself plagiarized verbatim off a Yahoo Answers post from 2010.
