School Messenger (ISTE 2017)
This year at ISTE 2017, I had the opportunity to sit down with Frank Catalano and Susan Adelmann to learn about a new 2-way messaging system that integrates directly into your schools Student Information System called School Messenger. For the last 17 years, their parent company West has been a leader in school communication systems and this year they are introducing School Messenger as a simple way for teachers and school districts to quickly alert their communities about emergencies, share great news about special events, and even provide a quick way for parents to notify schools when students will be absent. During the interview, I asked what set School Messenger apart from other popular messaging systems. They mentioned one key component that I have yet to see from others in their category. School Messenger has the ability to integrate with a Student Information System and pull in contact information for students and parents.
