Questions to consider
From Resonant Leadership by Richard Boyatzis and Annie McKee
If you answer yes to any of these questions, you're likely to be living in the zone of "sacrifice syndrome."

Working harder with less result? Getting home later or leaving home earlier each day?

Feeling tired, even after sleeping? Having trouble sleeping?

Finding less time for things that used to be enjoyable? Rarely relaxed?

Sometimes feel numb or react to situations with inappropriately strong emotions?

I don't care what I eat or whether I eat too much or too little?

I don't exercise as much as I used to?

I frequently think about how to "escape" my current situation?

Answering yes may indicate a need for support to evoke positive changes that will restore resilience and resonance in your life.
Questions for discussion
- how do we help staff with cycle of sacrifice and renewal?
- what activities could we implement to address sacrifice syndrome?
- How can we understand the sacrifice syndrome in ourselves?
- Does being a connected educator lead to sacrifice?
- How do our actions as principals impact the whole school?
