We have already introduced how to say \u201cas soon as\u201d or \u201cright after\u201d in Korean through a previous lesson, but there is more than one way to say these phrases in Korean. In this lesson, we are introducing a more advanced and more figurative way of saying \u201cas soon as\u201d.

1. Verb + -\uae30\uac00 \ubb34\uc12d\uac8c
The word \ubb34\uc12d\ub2e4 literally means \u201cto be scary\u201d or \u201cto be scared\u201d, but -\uae30\uac00 \ubb34\uc12d\uac8c has nothing to do with being scared or scary in its translation. When you say that something happens right after you do something,\xa0 or even \u201cas\u201d you are doing it, you can say \u201cverb + -\uae30\uac00 \ubb34\uc12d\uac8c\u201d and then say what happened.

2. Verb + -\uae30\uac00 \ubc14\uc058\uac8c
-\uae30\uac00 \ubc14\uc058\uac8c and -\uae30\uac00 \ubb34\uc12d\uac8c are almost always interchangeable and are used depending on personal preferences. Some people say \ubb34\uc12d\uac8c more often, some say \ubc14\uc058\uac8c, and others may not use either of them at all and could just use -\uc790\ub9c8\uc790 for everything.
