S2E5 - Good, but needs Ay-ton of work

Published: Nov. 4, 2021, 7 a.m.

The Suns have slightly revived what was a horrible start to the NBA season, and now sit at 3-3 after consecutive wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans. While the team has looked better, the bottom line is that the Suns have not been performing to the elite defensive standard that they have placed on themselves and even though they won both of the last two games, they won't get very far playing the way they have.

Take the wins how you get them. 3-3 is 3-3 no matter what happens. With the possibilities of Deandre Ayton and Cameron Payne continuing to miss time still looming, the Suns may have to continue grabbing some 'dirty wins.' In this episode of Suns Mode, we recap the past week for most of the Suns roster, comparing performances from the previous four games compared to the wins vs the Cavs and Pelicans. These players will all have objectives they look to fulfill in the upcoming games, especially if Deandre Ayton remains out.

Before the next time we gather on Suns Mode, the Suns will have played four more games.
- Thursday vs Rockets
- Saturday vs Hawks
- Monday @ Kings
- Wednesday @ Trail Blazers

Two new opponents, and two who are VERY familiar. If you come out of this episode looking for more info about the Trail Blazers or the Kings, I invite you to check the two most recent episodes of Suns Mode (episodes 3 and 4 this season).

Lastly, we open the episode (lol ironic) by talking about the Suns not using the third year option on Jalen Smith. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. It is 100% disappointing but only by listening can you find out how 100% disappointing.

Remember to join next week for some more Suns Mode, as early as next Thursday, Midnight AZ time! (THERE IS A TIME CHANGE SOON Y'ALL WATCH OUT)

Spread love and #ValleyExcellence, and come hang out for a big time episode next week!
