Michael was a massive Evertonian growing up and always hoped that one day he could play for his boyhood team, but in his early years playing football it was Liverpool that he learned his trade. Michael jumped at the chance to sign for Everton just before going to Lilleshall, Englands national school. During his pro career Michael also played for Scottish giants Rangers and legendary Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. He had spells at Man City and Leicester and was also capped for England.
