This week’s episode is all about freedom and letting go.

I bet you have some personal frustrations or pet peeves that cause you to react with a heartfelt rant. You get triggered, and then you let rip!

And then you think, why do I do this to myself?! This does me no good whatsoever!

Here’s an example from my life: I am prone to road rage! I used to be driving to work in the morning, always short on time, and somebody would turn out in front of me and then drive at a snail’s pace.

That would send me off on one! Let the ranting begin! I would descend into this inner (and sometimes outer!) rant, about how inconsiderate that person was, there was no one behind me, they could’ve waited, blah blah blah.

Then I’d get behind a tractor and off I’d go again!

Now I am not proud of this propensity, and it didn’t make for a great start to my work day! So one day, I caught myself as I was about to launch on a rant, and thought, “Why am I doing this to myself?” It’s not as if the other drivers are even hearing my message. Also, I wouldn’t want them to hear it, as it’s embarrassing and something I don’t like about myself. I don’t want them to witness my shame and spew vitriol on other people. NO!

So I decided to let it go! And WOW, what a revelation! My car became my therapy room, a space to repeatedly re-mind and liberate myself.

Driving became a pleasure, as I got to revel in my new-found freedom!

So this week it’s all about freeing ourselves from those annoyances that pop up repeatedly in our lives and that we allow to consume us.

So pick some frustration or pet peeve, and let's bring it into your own personal therapy room, so you can let it go, and live a more peaceful and joyful life.
