In today’s first segment, I talk about something called the Attachment system we’re born with as humans and is a system that allows us to develop in the safety of a secure attachment to a caregiver.

In cases of childhood abuse, this vital system can be rendered inoperable, leaving the survivors of childhood abuse feeling alone to fend for themselves.

While this is tragic in and of itself, it becomes prominent again in adolescence and adulthood, as the survivor of abuse finds it difficult - often impossible - to form the genuine connections necessary for growth and well-being.

In this segment, I deliver the good news that practicing Self Compassion can go a long way toward compensating for this missing attachment system.

By the way, did you hear that I’m launching an 8-week Self Compassion Program in the next couple of weeks? More details to come!

In the second segment today, I continue on the topic of Self Compassion; this time discussing how practicing Self Compassion - especially in the form of a caring touch for ourselves - can trigger the release of Oxytocin, lowering anxiety and stress and allowing us to feel good.

I hope you enjoy the episode!

If you would like to learn more about these practices I talk about, I encourage you to get in touch.

Some people are well capable of developing these skills on their own, but most of us need a little guidance, motivation, and accountability in order to stick with it long enough for the skills to take root as habits.

If you feel like you could use some coaching, your first session is on me.

In fact, I’ve already bought the first session for you!
