There are really two main ways in which we can interact with our inner voice:

We can become caught up in our inner voice, blindly obeying it without any awareness. This will tend to look like what we call ‘The Monkey Mind’, when the thoughts and ideas just bounce around your mind like a monkey jumping around a room.

Or we can become very aware of the inner voice (aka our thoughts and storytelling mind), but treat it with fear and apprehension. This opens us to many maladaptive coping mechanisms like addiction and other harmful ways of living.

But there is another way.

We can bring a non-judging awareness and acceptance of these thoughts and allow ourselves to dis-identify with them.

When we do this, we can examine our thoughts, our inner voice, without the emotions that prevent us from seeing it clearly.

In today’s episode, I talk about this and also how to develop this non-judging awareness of our inner voice:

If any of this episode resonates with you, I want you to know that you don’t have to live with the pain and suffering you may be experiencing.
