Ep 456: How to Pay Attention to Arriving

So often, we tend to say things like: ‘What a bad and difficult day this has been!’

Now, I don’t mean to diminish any difficulty you may have experienced during the day, but are you sure the whole day was difficult?

Or is it more accurate to say that a few things were difficult and these few stand out experiences are coloring your perception of the whole day?

Because the reality is that life doesn’t happen day by day.

Nor does life happen week by week, month by month, or year by year.

Life happens moment by moment in an arising action.

Our emotions, our thoughts, and even the physical sensations of our bodies arise in this present moment.

And when we train ourselves to notice this arising, we can easily see this moment by moment opportunity to come back to the present moment with acceptance, compassion, and curiosity.

In today’s episode, I give you two practices you can start right now to train your mind in this way.
