I always thought that happiness was something that was out there somewhere and if I wanted it, I\\u2019d need to go get it.
\\nI thought happiness existed in the car, or the job, or the new gadget, or the certain relationship with that one special person.
\\nBut last year, something really interesting happened to me.
\\nIn the midst of the coronavirus lockdown, when we couldn\\u2019t buy toilet paper or pasta; when my income was slashed and my wife had to go to work full time; when I was stuck inside the house with two young kids who were bored and confused, I had plenty of reasons to be unhappy.
\\nAnd yet, I found myself, as the world fell apart around me, sitting in an unshakeable happiness.
\\nI was happy for no reason.
\\nIt wasn\\u2019t denial! It was simply the skill of happiness.
\\nIn today\\u2019s episode, I talk about the four basic qualities that uncover the happiness that exists in each of us.
\\nWith just a little practice, you can cultivate these qualities for yourself and you, too, can be happy for no reason.
