So often, I used to find myself saying things like: \\u201cIf this person or that situation would change, I could finally be happy.\\u201d

And I would spend so much time resenting those people and situations that wouldn\\u2019t change for me.

\\n

I would get angry that \\u2018they\\u2019 were taking my happiness and causing me to suffer.

\\n

But the truth is that no person or situation is responsible for my emotions.

\\n

I have the power to regulate my emotions.

\\n

And so do you.

\\n

Because your emotional reactions are based on the extent to which you can see things clearly, accept what you see, and let go the expectations of any given outcome.

\\n

And every moment of life offers us the opportunity to course correct back to the place of presence, acceptance, compassion, and curiosity.

\\n

This course correction is a skill that develops through simple practices that take very little time.

\\n
