EP 375: How to Survive Difficulty

I know so many people who are having a really difficult time today, so I offer some tips for getting through with your health and happiness intact.

\\nWhen you feel yourself overwhelmed with grief or anger or fear today, I invite you to sense into your body for 30-60 seconds.
\\n
\\nUse your breath or any of your five senses.
\\n
\\nIf you feel yourself thinking \\u2018I wish things were different!\\u2019 Or \\u2018Why does it have to be this way?\\u2019 I invite you to remember that you can\\u2019t control the outcome, but you can control your response.
\\n
\\nAcceptance of reality, as is and just for right now, is the path to this control and, ultimately, to your well being.
\\n
\\nAnd if you find yourself feeling resentment for people who support the opposite party from you, I invite you to remember that those people are acting in a way that they feel will relieve their own suffering.
\\n
\\nCompassion and forgiveness are your path to shedding the weight of the anger that damages you far more than any person to whom you direct it.
