Selma Studer is a certified sound therapist and Founder of GONG. After many years in the corporate world, Selma decided to follow her passion for wellness and help people do something about the stress and anxiety that ravages so many lives. She experienced her first gong bath in Thailand and quickly realized the practice was just as needed in an urban setting. Selma has now guided more than 5,500 individuals through 800+ gong baths in person and online.

"We are sound; we\'re living sound, and everything that we do is a vibration." - Selma Studer.

I’m excited to have Selma on the show today to share her wisdom on the power of sound and how we can harness it to create calm in our lives. We dig into the science behind why gong baths reduce stress and anxiety, soothe your mind and induce a meditative state by stimulating brainwave activity. Selma also guides us through a short gong bath, so close your eyes, relax and let the sound wash over you.

“The wisdom of sound is really about this idea of coherence and harmony. So we can work with powerful vibrations and sounds to bring us back into balance, back into tune physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.” - Selma Studer.

Episode Highlights:

 • Why gong baths are transformational for so many people
 • How Selma has translated her corporate experience in communication and marketing to the soul communication of sound
 • Why the harmonies and vibrations are an integral part of the wisdom of sound, and how they are backed by scientific research
 • How Selma and Gong pivoted during the pandemic, how the process of producing online gong baths has worked out and what Selma has evolved over the past two years in ways she didn’t anticipate
 • Why intent is critical, both when experiencing a gong bath and in business growth, and how to set yourself up for success in both areas

International Women’s Day Insight:

“The whole essence of the business is supporting people, meeting them where they\'re at, and encouraging them to take care of themselves.” - Selma.

It is so vital to take care of your mental, physical, spiritual wellbeing. As an entrepreneur, you have to make sure that you’re taking care of yourself so that you can show up for others. Having the wisdom and intelligence to understand that you need to hold space for yourself means that you can devote yourself to serving others in your business.
