WES SOLO EPISODE FOR 12/12/2022

On this episode of Shaping Success with Wes Tankersley, Wes talks about the future of his podcast. How can he build on it? As we all do, he questions if he’s doing enough building his success. His podcast is available on multiple platforms such as Apple, Spotify, and iheart radio. He is developing his following on YouTube as well for video.

At a crossroads, Wes questions himself: Am I doing enough? His growth has slowed down somewhat, so he’s figuring out what needs to change in order to keep growing. Wes’s key to success means not accepting mediocrity and never quitting. Being consistent through hard work helps keep his mindset for success moving forward.

On Wes’s road to success, he has built a team of people who support him, and with their skills help him get his podcast out there to the people who need it. Wes makes it clear that he is grateful for the support and serves as a mindset coach for his supporters. Reaching one person and making a difference in his life makes this journey worthwhile to Wes, however, he needs more. His desire is to reach as many people as possible.

Through his team building, he wants to fight the algorithms of social media to push out his content to the right people. In thinking about his audience, Wes believes if he or one of his guests feels one way and is looking for a solution, then there are others out there that can learn from this guest, and if nothing else, know that they are not alone.

Wes talks about what goes viral these days. It’s usually drama such as bullying and bashing someone that is trying to do better. Unfortunately, people want to see drama, crazy, and conflict.

Wes says the way to success is the ability to take constructive criticism. It’s not negative. That person is giving you an idea to achieve success, so “don’t kill the idea man.”

He challenges us to accept change as a way to grow and continue success. The key is to do what works for you. Results won’t come right away. They take time. Wes uses the analogy of a lineman to explain success. He describes himself as an offensive lineman in that he knows where to go and is prepared by practice and watching film. On the flip side of that is the defensive lineman who his reactive. Reacting to pressure and making quick decisions what to do and where to go. Which are you?
