ATR - The Covid-19 Economic Crisis w/ Brian O'Boyle and Sami Mac Máistir

Published: July 12, 2021, 9:50 a.m.

The global economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic triggered the second once-in-a-lifetime recession in the space of ten years, hitting an already stagnant international economy hard. This week, Diarmuid sits down with economist Brian O'Boyle and Rupture's Sami Mac Máistir to discuss this economic crisis and the prospects of recovery, the future of neoliberalism, the likelihood of renewed attempts by governments to attack the working class again by reintroducing austerity and Ireland’s status as a global tax haven.
