Truck convoy: Police bringing staff in from around the country to watch roads

A convoy of trucks is leaving Whangārei on Friday morning carrying cargo from a ship that could not unload in Auckland. Constantinos P, which was diverted to Northport because of delays in unloading, now 800 truck trips will take the goods south, via State Highway 1 and across two sections of tricky road in the Dome Valley and the Brynderwyn Ranges.
