Covid-19: Police on bringing back Auckland checkpoints

Eight checkpoints are being set up at the edges of Auckland after the city entered Alert Level 3 at midnight. The boundaries will be set mostly in the same locations as the last time Auckland was last in lockdown in August. Drivers can expect to be asked to present proof of exemption for essential travel. That would usually come in the form of a letter from an employer, but as the alert changes were announced at 7pm on Sunday night, some might not yet have their exemption. New Zealand Police commissioner Andrew Coster spoke to Susie Ferguson.
