Warmer, wetter, windier and wilder - that's what Otago residents are being told to expect as part of a milestone report on climate change. The Otago Climate Change Risk Assessment maps out the projected risks for the region and details their implications for communities, the economy and the environment. In the long term, it'll mean an increase in intense rainfall events, drought, warmer waters, coastal erosion and inundation, reduced snowfall and extremely hot days. The report was first publicly aired during an Otago Regional Council meeting which reporter Tess Brunton attended in Dunedin.
