Govt passes water fluoridation issue to Director General of Hea

The government is plonking the issue of water fluoridation in the basket of Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield. It's a hot button issue which has spurred fierce debate among several councils over whether the mineral should be added to drinking water. Associate Health Minister Ayesha Verrall says centralising the decision making process will ensure there's a consistent approach across the country. She told our political reporter Katie Scotcher what else drove the decision.
