Teachers warn science neglected in race to save maths

Teachers are warning that science is being neglected in the rush to halt the decline in students' maths scores. The Ministry of Education has commissioned expert advice and asked the Royal Society to investigate how to improve poor maths results as well as spending $40 millionĀ  helping schools do better. But science marks are also dropping and experts in the field want urgent action. Hamish Cardwell has more.
