The Silver Ferns have beaten the Australian Diamonds 49-44 in the first Test of the Constellation Cup in Christchurch. It's the first time the two sides have met in 18 months. It was goal for goal for the first six minutes but the Silver Ferns pulled away to lead 14-10 after the first quarter, and held the lead the whole way through the game. Australia did out-score the Ferns 13-9 in the final quarter - but it wasn't enough to reel in New Zealand's lead. After the game, coach Dame Noline Taurua was asked if she was satisfied with the Silver Fern's 5 point win.
