School kids to go on virtual field trip to learn about seaweed

School students are set to depart on a virtual field trip to learn more about the unsung hero of New Zealand's oceans this week. The organisers of Seaweek 2021 suspect that seaweed could be the key to helping coastal communities bounce back from Covid-19 and environmental degradation. So they're taking students remotely to Kaikoura and Nelson to try to persuade them of seaweed's virtues. Sustainable Seas National Science Challenge director Dr Julie Hall spoke to Māni Dunlop.
